November

This week we have been busy with Remembrance day preparations. Students have created poems, painted artwork, and written letters to veterans. Today we read a play about the Christmas truce between the British and German soldiers in World War I. Don't forget to get your permission forms signed if you are entering the Legion poster contest. Tomorrow morning we will be having an assembly after recess to remember those who have sacrificed for our country. In math we have moved on to measurement and will be working on time and money - a very important unit! Students continue to have some difficulty telling time on an analog (not digital) clock. We will need lots of home practice for this. I am having a patterning test rewrite for those who need it at recess on Thursday. All students were to bring their tests home to be signed this week. New science units are coming next week - energy for the grade fives and sound and light for the grade fours! Don't forget - there is no school Friday November 13th or Monday November 16th.
